We are an Eastern Orthodox church in Vancouver, WA.
We invite you to join us for worship and fellowship!
There are some who live to eat; which is no doubt also true of the dumb beasts, 'for whom life is but a stomach'. But the Master has taught us that we are to eat to live. But we who seek the food of heaven have need to control our earthly stomach, and especially the things that are pleasing to it; since God shall destroy both it and them (I Cor. vi. 13) says the Apostle, justly execrating those given to gluttony.

Today we read the Gospel of the woman with the issue of blood. “And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stopped. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and you sayest, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

As we all prepare for Holy Week and Pascha, if you have not already done so, try to make arrangements so that you can attend as many of the Passion Week and Paschal services as possible...
Perhaps time will have to be taken off from work or schedules altered in other ways, and it is best to plan for this ahead. The services of Passion Week and Pascha are the most important in the Christian Year and every conscientious Orthodox should try his or her best to prepare for them, participate in them, to confess, and to receive the Holy Mysteries.
