Parish transition

Our parish is currently in transition from a mission to a church. The existing chapel and parish hall are planned to be converted to two condo units and sold. Proceeds from the sale should allow us to purchase or lease a larger property and start building a permanent church community.

The condo conversion has already begun. The hall upstairs has been demolished and the remodeling is currently under way. We are trying to use as much donated labor as possible, so if you have any construction/remodeling skills or just would like to offer your help, please contact Fr. Dimitri. Besides general work, we may also need other skilled specialists (electrician, plumber, drywall, gas, HVAC etc.). Also, if you are willing to donate building materials or know somebody who would, please let us know. Anything that saves us money now would let us build a better Orthodox church community in the near future.

Budget and spendings

$15K from the savings account have been approved by the parish to go towards remodeling expenses.
Additionally, a few families have volunteered to take equity loans on their homes and lend money to the parish. The money will be repaid to the lenders as soon as the first remodeled unit sells.
The bottom line: we should have enough funds for the condo conversion but again, the more we can save, the more money will go towards the future church.

Transitional space

We are looking for a short term rent that will allow us having church services while converting the chapel into condo.

Building update

Upstairs: the remodeling is going on.
Downstairs: still serving as a chapel.
